Hey People,
Well if you read this blog at all you know I want to work in the music industry. So I need ideas and or connections. So if you are reading this and think you could help let me know. There is nothing else in my life that I want to do except be apart of music some how. My main position I would like to do is play music. But if I could produce it that would be cool too. Or I could help travel with a band and set up or run lights or sound. I could also be a manger or booking agent. I have to do something in that field or I will be miserable.

Hi there...I get your updates about the Newsboys and decided from your last message to check out your blog. I don't have time to blog, much less hardly get into facebook BUT, I was prompted to do so this evening and started to read your blog. You sound depressed. I know things aren't looking great right now with your dog gone and your favorite teacher being let go and then your favorite band losing it's best asset-I get that...MAJOR bummers all in a row. God allows things in our lives to happen so we can grow and learn and most of all grow closer to Him. Rely on His strength, not your own. I don't know where you are with your faith but chances are if you are a Newsboys fan, you're probably already a Christian. If not, let me know so I can tell you all about how awesome it is to be one. :) As for your music industry call out...I work for an art school in Tampa, FL and one of the majors we offer is the Recording Arts. It's one of the only bachelor degrees in the country for that type of program. In this program, you have the opportunity to learn how to BE in the music industry-making music, producing music and engineering music, studios, business behind the scenes, etc. If you want more information, email me at timpson@academy.edu and type in the subject line NEWSBOYS so I know who you are :). You can also check out the website at www.academy.edu. The best way to get into the business is to be engrossed in music. Go to a local, well-known studio and ask to cut the grass there or do odd jobs for them around the studio. Get your foot in the door by doing stuff like that. Then, as they see how hard you're willing to work and how humble you are, they'll start to entrust you with more things. Eventually, you'll probably catch a break and a door will open for you to learn a bit more about the business. It spirals from there. You have to be humble and work hard. You can't expect to get in the door somewhere in the music biz and be hired off the hop and make lots of money. That is an industry where you work your way in one inch at a time. What grade are you in anyway? Junior year? Go to the studios and offer to detail the cars in the lot or be the coffee boy or take out the trash-anything you can do to just BE there will hopefully and eventually get you more opportunities to get into knowing who works there and how they do what they do.
hope this helps :0)
