Im sitting here at 2:40am and my iTunes is on shuffle and this song by Switchfoot came up. I have never thought of these lyrics this way before. But this is probably the most inspiring song ever.

Like I now realize that I am going to reach my dream no matter what people say to me and what obstacles are in my way. I now know that people are only human. Ya know?
Little kids believe in Santa. They have that faith that there is actually a guy in a red suit who flys around and gives gifts. I want that kinda of faith. I want to believe in "Santa". I think if we all knew that we were gonna reach your dream the world would be a very different place.

Well, Im gonna go try and sleep, I'll probably read this later when im actually awake and think its retarded.

Be the Spark that Starts the Fire

I play guitar in my youth band at church. As I look out at everyone I see some people worshiping God and really going after him and THAT IS AWESOME!

But then yet again I see people that just stand there like a bump on a log. They stand there and just wait for the music to be done so they can go back and sit down.
Now when I'm up there and I see that is VERY discouraging.

Think of it this way. You have the oppourtunity to get a millions dollars and all you have to do is give, say, one dollar. So when you give a little you get ALOT. It's that simple. You worship God and press into him and you will be suprises what you get back.
At first it'll be weird(maybe) but the benifet is un-real!

Plus you're in church so who's gonna say anything?
I mean come on if people in other countries die every day because of their faith in Jesus Christ we should be able to raise our hands and clap with the music. I mean it's a shame to think of it really. You are missing out on something because you are embarassed.
We gotta move on make new tracks so more people will follow.

And for allf you people that are keep moving. Move faster!
You guys (and girls) are the sparks that are gonna start the fire.
But In order for the sparks to make a fire they have to get to the more flamable wood. Sparks have to be placed right so the fire will ignite. So next time you are worshiping encouarge others to join you. Jump around. Clap your hands. Sing loud. So you create more sparks.

Michael Tait with the Newsboys

A few weeks ago I was in Gaylord Michigan at Big Ticket Festival which is a Christian Music Festival. There were over 60 bands there including Third Day, David Crowder, and Newsboys.

This year I acquired backstage passes. So while backstage I saw all the tour buses unloading there gear and band members. I was backstage taking some pictures before the newsboys went on and I saw Michael Tait sitting on the bleachers to the right of the stage. So I went up and sat right behind him. I sat there for a few minutes pretending to watch what was going on onstage (Natalie Grant). I fibnally then turned around and said "Im really excited for the show." He responded with , "So am I." I then took a picture with him and left to go take some more pictures.

So then later that night I went backstage again. The second to last band (Seven Glory) was finishing up and the newsboys stepped out of their tour bus. They walked over and chatted with me a bit. We talked about their new album and other newsboys topics. They were about to go up on stage and i stood there and took a few more pics of them. Mike talked to me some more and then it was time go on. The boys circled up and prayed. Then walked out. I went around to the front of the stage and stood between the crowd and the band.

The concert began they started with "Something Beautiful" and went on from there. I was shocked. The concert was amazing. I think Mike did an equal job as to what Peter Furler did. I was so happy that I got to see that show. Next time the boys are in town make sure you check them out.

Big Ticket Festival 2009

This past weekend was The Big Ticket Festival in Gaylord Michigan. For those of you who dont know what that is its a Christian/Contemporary music festival with over 60 bands. The big names in christian music play here every year there. Such as Newsboys, Switchfoot, Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Super Chick, and Toby Mac to name a few. This year, 2009, the headliners were Newsboys, Switchfoot, and Third Day.

This was the highlight of my year. Some amazing people that I know gave me a media pass which allowed me to go backstage. When I went back there I was so happy. All of my favorite bands were just walking around back there. I met the newsboys for the second time. I got pictures with them all as you can see above.

But anyways this was an amazing weekend. I to meet my inspirations, hear great music, and be in the company of great friends.

"In the Hands of God" Newsboys New Album Review

Ok I got the album a few day before it comes out. This album is amazing. If you thought Go was good just wait till you hear this one.

The Cd starts out with a song called "The Way we Roll". This song talks about the history of the newsboys along with a great message about being free.

The second song and probably my favorite is called "No Grave"
This song is different from traditional newsboys style but still amazing.

"This is your life" starts out very eighties-esc but becomes similar to the song "The Orphan" off of the Devotion CD.

"Glorious" is a very sweet worship song with some awesome guitar. If you listen closley you can hear Michael Tait singing BGV's.

"In the hands of God" is a very awesome track and I think it will eb the next "He Reigns".

"The Upside" starts out very different and then has a cool British pop style the newsboys are famous for.

"My Friend Jesus" is just one of those classic fun newsboys songs. It sounds like Superchick had a little bit of say in this one.

"Lead me to the Cross" is probably the slowest song on the album. It is also a worship song. it has some amazing vocals.

"Dance" is a another one of those awesome Techno synth filled songs.
Very fun and energetic.

The last song, "RSL 84" is basically the story of Peter and his time with the newsboys. This song is amazing and full of amazing harmony's and guitar parts.

This cd is probably my favorite. I have listened to over ten times and think it is amazing.

This Busy Weekend

Well, my Twitter wont let me write every thing so here it is.

After school I'll be heading over to Nathan's. Then at 10:30 we're going to a lock-in. Then tomorrow morning Nathan is running a 5k. So I'm going to go watch that. Then we will be going to a Loons Game.

Meet us at these events.

Lock-In starts at 10:30 at Midland Baptist. It cost $15. You get food, bowling, and the Communtiy Center. Meet at Midland Baptist Church at 10:30 pm.

The Loons Game starts Saturday at 6:05 pm. Buy Lawn Seats for only $6. Oh and the First 5,000 fans get a free poster.

So.............Pleeeeeeeeeeez Show up. It will be fun.

Random Outburts of Insight

Hey People
I havent Blogged in a while. So I thought I would. Yeah.

Anywho, I am just gonna write a bunch of random things that have some meaning.

I am definitely going to Big Ticket this summer and I am excited.

Next Friday is the Newsboys concert in Saginaw. I get to leave early from school and go to the Dow Event center and wait for 5 or 6 hours.

I dont have internet at my house.

I cant wait for summer.

I am going camping.

Iron Man the Sequel

Yes it's true, there is going to be a sequel to the Iron Man. The release date is set some time next year (2010). I'm pretty excited for this sequel. As you know the first movie was awesome so hopefully this new one will be good. Because the reasons most sequels don't do good and are not liked is because they basically have the same plot but in a different scene. Or they sequel has the basic same jokes as they did in the first movie. An example of that is Shrek the last three movies. They are all basically the same just different scenes and a few new characters. Oh and by the way, Shrek goes FOURTH is set for release next year as well. I think theyre taiking the green ogre franchise a tad to far.

But anywho back to Iron Man...............

In the new Iron man movie most of the original cast will be returing. Including
Robert Downy Jr, Gweneth Paltrow, and Samuel Jackson. (Some of you know what I'm talking about). But there are a few new additions to the cast. First off Col. James Rhodes will no be played by Don Cheadle instead of Terrance Howard. There are also two new major additions to the cast. One being Scarlet Johanson. She will be playing black widow. Also Mickey Rourke is also rumored to be play a villan in this film.

But I hope it will be good. I am excited. Rumor has it this movie will be coming out late summer of 2010. Along with;

1. The Chronicals of Narnia ; Voyage of the Dawn Treador

2. Shrek goes Fourth

3. Spider-man 4

4. Super Man; Man of Steel

Peter Furler leaves the Newsboys

Peter Furler, lead singer of the newsboys finally calls it quits. He was one of the people I look up to and the main reason why I liked the newsboys. I dont think the band will ever be the same without him. My personal belief is that they should have just done a farewell tour and had special appearances of some of the old band members. I do NOT like the new replacement. Michael Tait of the former band DC talk. His voice does not fit this Aussie band. It's like taking U2's Bono and replacing him with Adam Levine of Maroon 5 . I dont care what people say this desicion sucks.

Below is the offcial press release from INPOP records.

After 22 years and more than 2000 shows, newsboys frontman Peter Furler will no longer front the band in concert. Michael Tait will be touring with the band as lead singer with Peter making special appearances throughout the year.

Peter will continue with the band and his trademark songwriting and production will remain as he focuses his professional career toward future newsboys recordings.

Michael has been on the road with the band over the past weeks working alongside Peter in what has been a positive and enjoyable experience for both parties. It has been a graceful process that both Peter and Michael have worked through as they prepare to make the change in the coming weeks.

Peter states, “newsboys to me has always been a mission, and I entrust Mike, Jeff, Jody and Duncan to continue all that is in store for us as a band. I’m looking forward to focusing on the band’s studio career and spending time in my own bed after many years in a tour bus and hundreds of thousands of miles on the road.”

Wes Campbell, newsboys manager, explains, “Whilst the decision to replace Peter on the road was a painstaking one, when the idea of dc Talk vocalist Michael Tait was presented, it was a no-brainer to all of us. My Dog, Nikkie

In Christmas of 2002 we got a dog that dogs name is Nikkie. Over the years we grew to love her. But we also didn't have enough time for her because of our busy schedule. So on Friday March 6th we had to give her away. I miss my dog and I'm pretty bummed about it. Seeing how I will probably never see her again. So yeah Im bummed.

New Teacher Same Old School

Well heres a little background information. This past Monday I received a letter in the mail saying that my favorite teacher has been let go. I was devastated and quite frankly still am. So Tuesday when we came back to school after our seven day break. We came to school and as I walked in the halls were much quieter than normal. We walked in to meet our new teacher,Mrs. Shaedig.
Giving the fact that she is a new teacher and all she was ok. But she reorganized the room and gave us new seats. Plus on top of that she wont let us use our laptops or drink pop in class. Plus all three classes that I have with her are very boring.

I'm pretty sure I'm being homeschooled next year. All my friends are leaving now and things arent going so well. I hope every will work out good. I just wish things didnt change.

One Month Away

Well it late Febuary and there are two things that are gonna happen in one month.
The first and one and the more important is I have to make $30 by March 20th. If I dont do this I wont be going to Big Ticket. And for those of you that know me that was the highlight of my summer last year.

The Second thing is on April 3rd the Newsboys will be doing a free concert in Saginaw. Im am super excited for this event. My mom is taking me and Nathan out of school early and we are gonna wait at the doors so we get front row.

Anywho
I hope I can go to both these things.

There is nothing else in my life that I want to do except be apart of music some how. My main position I would like to do is play music. But if I could produce it that would be cool too. Winter Camp 2009!

Well just like I promised here is the blog about my thoughts and experiences at Winter Camp 2009. I thought this was an amazing weekend. I liked everything about it. Well everything except that mustard chicken and the wet French Fries. But besides the not so good food this trip rocked.

It started with a four and a half hour bus drive to Cedarville Michigan which is in the U.P. We took charter buses which made it fun.

Then once we got there I roomed with Drew and Nate which was a blast.
This trip was an awesome experience I recommend all Thrive members should go.
The services were awesome, the music was awesome, and everything was just awesome.
Plus the fact that there are pianos everywhere makes it even better.

OK tomorrow at 3:00 I will be leaving for a five hour journey to the up of Michigan for Winter Camp 2009. I'm really excited as i stated before. The speaker, Keith Robinson, is amazing and I cant wait to hear what he has to say. Plus the whole camp is amazing and is fun. So I will be out of contact with you people most likely. I just found out today I cant bring my phone so there will be no Twitter updates. But if I find a wireless signal at a gas station I will update via my laptop. I'll even maybe try to wrote a blog about it. But expect a ton of pics.

Oh.........one other thing Thrive (my youth group) was amazing tonight. If you were there you know. If you were not there be there next time . OK , talk to you guys later.

WINTER CAMP 2009

Last night (Saturday Night) I pulled and all nighter because we had to be at church really early. So I stayed up all night. But then I slept all day. So my sleep schedule is way off. But the worst part is I have exams this week.

But if you have ever heard the term being on cloud 9, well that's where I'm at right now. So yeah that means I'm on top of the world and happy. So I'm gonna use that term more while writing my blogs.

Another Great Day

Well today is Thursday so that means the Office is tonight which is awesome. But on top of that when I got home and checked my Facebook I saw I had a new email. So I clicked on it and saw it was from my youth pastor (Pastor Dave). He wrote in the email:

Just a F.Y.I.

Came in and found an envelope on my desk that had a check for $75 to go toward your winter camp. Pretty cool huh?

Well heres why...............
I woke up late (good thing) and found out I had to drive to school (good thing) cause my parents were sick. So I got to school and it was pizza day (good thing). Then after the long day and having to smell Mr. Wells (bad thing) I went home and checked my e-mail. When I opened the first email it was from Big Ticket. They told me Third Day has been booked for the Saturday night of the festival (great thing). Then I went to Thrive ( my youth group) and it was just so good. Plus on top of that I got to play guitar in the band there.

The End of Christmas Break

Well people its that time of year again. The time where you feel like running away into the woods and eating your toe nails for a means of survival. Well at least I thought about.
Anyway the time I'm talking about is the end of Christmas Break. This is the time where you have to get back in the habit of going to bed before 2 am. Plus instead of not getting dressed for the day you have to get your uniform on. (Well for me anyway its a uniform). Also you have to be around some very annoying people versus being home playing your new xbox 360 you got.

Well speaking of the devil I should probably go wash my uniform and find my backpack because tomorrow at 7:00 my alarm will be ringing and I will wake up and have to face some pretty rotten teachers, not all are bad but most. So I wish you all luck and dont forget about your New Years Resolutions.

I Hate Myspace Screen Names

Ok here are my thoughts on myspace screen names. I hate them. Why cant people just use their real name? Because everytime they post a bulletin you dont know who it is because their name is like "Stole_my_heart <3"!!

This gets annoying. So if you are reading this just write your name. Because people are sick of this.
This is one reason why Facebook is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

My thoughts as the Year comes to an End

Well 2008 was a great year for me. Even though the economy went down the toilet faster than re fried beans.
This year I met a ton of new awesome people (Yes I mean You). I did a ton of new things. I also did some awesome new things. Another thing I think this year had some of the best movies ever! Oh and I also saw more movies this year then anybody else and I am willing to bank on that.

But other things that happened this year...........Well................I found out that a lot of people are idiots, such as the Governor of Illinois................I'll just leave it at that. Not only did I see idiots on the national level but at my school.

Another thing is I really got to see life the way it is lived............ how people will do anything to get to the top. I 've seen how parents treat their kids terribly (not my parents) . I've seen the American people worry about stuff they dont need to.

My point is 2008 was great. But what I'm thinking is 2009 should be way better.
I have this gut feeling that something major is going to happen. Maybe not something bad but maybe good.

Well anyway................I hope 2009 will be good for you I know its gonna be for me.

Thanksgiving Week

Well this Thanksgiving is going to be hectic. We are having most of my Dad's side of the family coming over which is about 50 people. Most of my cousins eat a lot so we have to make a lot of food.
But when thinking about how busy its going to be I also think about how blessed I am. I mean come on I have pretty nice stuff and a family with both parents. I also can be thankful because none of my family has any diseases. I also can be thankful that I actually have a house to live in unlike many people in forigen countries and even in this one. So through out this holiday think about what your thankful for. Because we take everything we have for granted.

Well for this weekend its just me and Josh because Jacob is at a leadership camp thing that I nominated him for. But I'm not missing him that much.
